Dunk Contest Tweeting
For the first year in the history of the NBA dunk contest, there were no live judges at the contest. This year, the NBA tried using Tweeting and texting to determine the winners of the contest. After every dunk, fans could send in what they thought the ranking was for the dunk. The updates for where dunkers rankings were not given until the very end. I feel that this was a good thing because it left people in suspense as to who was going to win. I wonder if this is going to cause many other contests, competitions, and TV stations to start using social media to boost ratings.
